Treatable Conditions
Protruding Ears
Otoplasty corrects “outstanding” or “prominent ears”. Anatomically, outstanding ears have either a high cup (concha) or lack an adequate ear fold, or both. During your consultation, we will examine your ears to identify the contributing elements to your ear concerns. We will then tailor the ear surgery to your particular needs. This may require molding, reshaping, adding, or removing structural ear elements. The operation is performed under local or general anaesthesia depending on the procedure and your preference. The scars are well hidden behind the ears and are usually not noticeable. The recovery time is short but your ears may remain swollen for several weeks.
