Buttock Lift

A buttock lift, also known as a gluteal lift, is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the buttocks, resulting in a lifted and tightened appearance. The surgery can be combined with liposuction to improve the shape and size of the buttocks and thighs. It may also be done after an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck to finalize the hip-buttock contour, particularly after a massive loss of weight.

Ideal candidates for a buttock lift are people who have loose or sagging skin in the buttocks due to aging, weight loss, or pregnancy. They should be in good overall health and have realistic expectations for the results of the surgery.

A buttock lift is typically performed under general anesthesia. Dr.Thompson or Dr.Germain will make incisions in the lower back and above the buttocks. The excess skin and fat will be removed, and the remaining buttock tissue, lifted and tightened.

The recovery period after a buttock lift varies from person to person. Most patients can return to work and normal activities within two to four weeks after surgery. However, it can take several months for the swelling and bruising to completely disappear and for the final results of the surgery to be visible.

Like any surgical procedure, a buttock lift carries some risks, including:

  • Bleeding
  • Infection
  • Scarring
  • Reaction to anesthesia
  • Asymmetry
  • Numbness
  • Pain

If you are considering a buttock lift, it is important to consult with Dr.Thompson or Dr. Germain to discuss your goals and concerns. They can help you determine if you are a good candidate for the surgery and provide you with more detailed information about the procedure, the risks, and the recovery period.
