Facial Surgery
Otoplasty (Ears)
Otoplasty: This operation corrects “outstanding” or “prominent ears”. These ears have either a high cup (concha) or lack an adequate ear fold, or both. During your consultation, we will examine your ears to identify the contributing elements of your ear concerns. We will then tailor the ear surgery to your particular needs. This may require molding, reshaping, adding, or removing structural ear elements. The operation is performed under local or general anaesthesia depending on the procedure and your preference. The scars are well hidden behind the ears and are usually not noticeable. The recovery time is short but your ears may remain swollen for several weeks.
Ear lobe repair: Heavy jewellery, inadvertent tearing, or stretching of the ear lobe are the main causes of ear lobe deformities. We prefer to reconstruct the ear lobe under local anesthesia. The procedure is well tolerated. The recovery time is short. We recommend waiting at least 6 months before re-piercing your ears.
