Microneedling (Eclipse MicroPen® Elite)
The Eclipse MicroPen® Elite is an epidermal micro-exfoliation device used to stimulate the tissue and improve the appearance of the skin. It is designed for use by skin care professionals.
Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a medico-aesthetic procedure where microscopic needles are applied to the skin to create precise micro-perforations. These controlled zones of microtrauma trigger the skin repair process and stimulate collagen and elastin production. The micro-channels also facilitate the absorption of skin-rejuvenating products, allowing the gels, creams and serums to penetrate deeply into the skin which in turn, enhances their effect. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) can also be applied during or after microneedling and maximizes the cell regeneration by more than 5 times.
Microneedling can be used on the face, neck, décolleté, arms, and hands. The treatment goal is to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, acne scars, pigmented skin spots, melasma, enlarged pores, stretch marks, traumatic scars as well as skin texture and tone.
After numbing your skin with an anesthetic cream, your medico-aesthetic technician will apply a hyaluronic acid serum or PRP to the treatment area. The depth of the needles is adjusted according to the skin thickness. The Micropen is gently placed on your skin and slid over the treatment zone.
The treatment lasts 15 to 30 minutes and is quite comfortable. Immediately afterwards your skin will be red and it will feel as though you have a sunburn.
Healing times can vary from person to person. Generally, the redness and swelling goes away after 24 hours. For some people, this may last 3 days. We will recommend products for you to help in the healing process.
We recommend a series of 3 to 6 treatments, at 4 to 6-week intervals for specific skin conditions. Afterwards, we suggest maintaining the look of your healthy skin with a single treatment every 4 months.
